Understanding Response Confidence

Confidence Bars help you indicate how sure you are about your responses. You can enable this feature in your settings. Once activated, you will choose a confidence level for each response:

  • Low Confidence (1 Bar): You are less certain about your answer.
  • Medium Confidence (2 Bars): You have moderate certainty.
  • High Confidence (3 Bars): You are very certain.

How It Works

Per-Response Scoring

Each response with a selected confidence level is assigned points:

  • Low: 1 point (out of 5)
  • Medium: 3 points (out of 5)
  • High: 5 points (out of 5)

If you do not select a confidence level, the response is excluded from overall and category confidence calculations.

Overall and Category-Level Grading

Your overall confidence score is calculated based on the total points earned from responses with a confidence selection.

For categories, only responses with a selected confidence level contribute to that category’s summary.

Confidence is displayed as bars (0 to 5) based on the points earned by confidence selections as a percentage of total possible points (5 points multiplied by the number of confidence bars that have a confidence level selected):

  • 0 Bars: No confidence selections made.
  • 1 Bar: 20% or less of total points.
  • 2 Bars: More than 20% up to 40%.
  • 3 Bars: More than 40% up to 60%.
  • 4 Bars: More than 60% up to 80%.
  • 5 Bars: More than 80% of total points.

This system provides clear, visual feedback on your confidence levels, both overall and within specific categories, while ignoring responses without a confidence selection.
